Overture Announces Mike Aquino as President and CEO
Industry veteran with proven track record of execution joins Overture to lead Carrier Ethernet company through next phase of growth.
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, September 24, 2012 – Overture, the preferred Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation partner for service providers and network operators worldwide today announced that Mike Aquino has joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to help guide Overture through its next phase of customer and revenue growth worldwide. Today, 5 of the top 7 global Carrier Ethernet Service Providers and 8 of the top 10 USA-based Carrier Ethernet Service Providers deploy Overture products. Co-founder and current CEO Jeff Reedy will continue with the company as Overture's Chief Strategy Officer.

Mr. Aquino has had a successful and distinguished career in the telecommunications and information technology industry with over 30 years of experience. Mr. Aquino joins Overture from Ciena Corporation, where he held a number of executive positions, including Senior VP of Global Field Operations, General Manager of Global Government Solutions, and VP of Americas. During Mr. Aquino's tenure at Ciena, the company's annual revenue grew from approximately $400 Million in 2002 to more than $1.7 Billion in 2011. Mr. Aquino also assisted Ciena with the integration of multiple acquisitions, including World Wide Packets and Nortel's Metro Ethernet Networks business. Prior to Ciena, Mr. Aquino held leadership positions at ONI Systems (acquired by Ciena), Bay Networks (acquired by Nortel Networks), and IBM Corporation.
