Lackland Holdings Thrives After Accelerating Key Applications

BURLINGTON, MA, Mar 27, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Certeon, Inc., today announced that Lackland Holdings, LLC, a real estate firm that purchases and develops commercial projects based in Fort Worth, Texas, is leveraging Certeon software to accelerate backup and replication and Virtual Machine (VM) hosting.

When it was time for Lackland Holdings to upgrade their servers, they made the decision to move their data to the cloud. Initially, the move to a public cloud proved problematic as latency issues increased and the bandwidth became congested, negatively impacting everyday business functions. With both local and remote offices requiring access to various applications, Lackland Holdings realized that it was time to optimize their Wide Area Network (WAN).

"If you turned Certeon off today, I'd be dead in the water," said Marcus Tilton, IT project manager for Lackland Holdings, describing his company's experience using Certeon. "I believe just the dollars we would have spent increasing bandwidth by adding a fiber channel have already made the purchase of the Certeon solution a worthwhile investment for us. In addition, the network benefits have validated Certeon as a critical component of our IT environment while also improving our bottom line."

Having heard about the benefits of Certeon's software from Fluid Consulting, a hosted cloud provider in Texas, Tilton, decided that optimizing the WAN was no longer simply an option, but a necessity. Once implementation was complete, Tilton saw results immediately. In fact, according to Tilton, Lackland experienced an even better performance than originally promised, realizing a bandwidth reduction of 40 to 60 percent in the data center and an increased speed of up to 10 times.

Susan Roberts, Senior Vice President of Certeon Marketing and Sales, said "Lackland Holdings and Fluid Consulting, their cloud provider, are both astute, far-sighted business leaders who have been quick to recognize and remedy one of the key challenges of cloud computing: the WAN as a bottleneck to providing broader, faster access to applications in the cloud. More and more customers and service providers are turning to Certeon to solve this challenge in the most scalable, future-proof manner rather than relying on last century hardware technologies for WAN optimization."
