Leading Industry Magazine Recognizes QRadar as “More Than Just a SIEM”

WALTHAM, Mass. - December 10, 2010 − Q1 Labs, the global provider of total security intelligence solutions, today announced that SC Magazine has named Q1 Labs the 2010 Industry Innovator for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) in its annual year-end Innovators' article. Each year, SC Magazine selects one vendor from various categories, highlighting companies that have a strong dedication to the business of security, commitment to innovation, and outstanding customer service.

Q1 Labs recently announced the newest version of its SIEM product, QRadar 7.0, complete with the ability to monitor activity on social media platforms and multimedia applications such as Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, LinkedIn and Skype, among others. QRadar 7.0 is an essential deliverable of the Security Intelligence Operating System, which provides a unified architecture for collecting, storing, analyzing and querying log, threat, vulnerability and risk related data. The combination of enhancements and strategic improvements unveiled in QRadar 7.0 bring Q1 Labs to the head of the line within the SIEM and Log Management space, while at the same time continuing to expand Q1 Labs' reach into new markets, such as Risk Management, which enables customers to have a single integrated solution for all their security and risk monitoring needs.

Dr. Peter Stephenson, technology editor for SC Magazine, praised Q1 Labs for "developing a creative approach to gathering and presenting actionable security intelligence in a platform that is easy to deploy and use," and noted its greatest strength is its "view of security intelligence from the perspective of the user, addressing the difficulties usually associated with this type of product."

"We are very pleased to be named as an Innovator this year by SC Magazine," said Brendan Hannigan, President and COO for Q1 Labs. "By working closely with our customers Q1 Labs continues to extend our traditional SIEM solutions to deliver a broader family of security intelligence products. We appreciate Dr. Stephenson's recognition of this progress in the Innovators edition."
