Former VCE Leader Brings a Wealth of Experience to Fast Growing Application Performance Company

BURLINGTON, MA, Jan 09, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Certeon, the application performance company, has named Kevin Murphy as Vice President Product Management. Murphy comes to Certeon from VCE where he was responsible for Solutions Management, bringing with him more than 15 years of experience leading successful products into emerging markets, defining and delivering distributed systems for cloud service providers, Content Delivery Networks, IT infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud solutions.

Murphy will work with Certeon's existing team of optimization experts to focus on:

--  Aligning Certeon solutions with the changing needs of global
enterprises looking for virtual appliances versus the hardware
solutions of the previous technology era

--  Developing key partnerships with leading cloud service providers

--  Identifying and delivering advancements to the Certeon aCelera product
line to make it even more secure, transparent, flexible and scalable

"Certeon continues to understand the market direction and is ahead in the product solutions it offers," said Kevin Murphy, vice president product marketing. "While other vendors continue to focus on WAN Optimization challenges circa 2008, Certeon understands the new market requirements facing IT in 2012 such as: application security, transparency and optimization -- all necessary for extending the enterprise data center into the cloud."

"Certeon has developed key partnerships with cloud service providers and virtualized enterprises. Given Kevin's expertise in both these areas, his joining us enables Certeon to better address the challenges and demands our cloud services customers are facing," explained Peter Dougherty, CEO of Certeon. "We welcome Kevin's practical and extensive knowledge and his contribution to Certeon's continued success."

Mr. Murphy joins Certeon from VCE, where he was responsible for developing partnerships and delivering solutions for the security and management of the Vblock Platforms. Previously he was the CTO of NEI where he was responsible for their software, cloud, and virtualization strategy as well as expanding their IP portfolio. Mr. Murphy also led the architecture, design, and implementation of GE Intelligent Platform's cloud and virtualization solution for the Proficy product line. He holds a BSEE degree from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
