Optaros Named 2010 Silver W3 Award Recipient for Private-Sales Site
Firm's Work With Private-Sales Site 36Boutiques Recognized in Outstanding Website Category
BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - December 6, 2010) - Optaros, an ecommerce solution provider, was recently named a 2010 Silver W3 Award recipient in the outstanding website category for its work with private-sales website, 36Boutiques.
"Backed by Naspers/MIH, 36Boutiques is the premier Private Event Retail site in South Africa, running top-quality brands with a local flair," said Adam Michelson, director of ecommerce, Optaros. "It uniquely blends a high-fashion experience with a site that is definitively South African, leading an international expansion of the Private Event Retail business model, beyond Europe and the U.S."
36Boutiques was built on OCentric, Optaros' SaaS ecommerce platform, which is uniquely optimized for private sales, and designed to help retailers meet peak demand while maintaining high customer satisfaction. Key features include: timed selling events, auto-scaling, cart reservations, content integration and a customizable interface to handle highly stylized designs.
For more information on the 36Boutiques project, read an interview with Paul Casarin, head of new business, MIH eCommerce Africa.
The W3 Awards honor outstanding websites, online marketing initiatives, web videos and mobile apps from interactive agencies, designers and creators worldwide. This year, more than 3,000 entries were received.
The W3 is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising and marketing firms.
"We were once again amazed by the high standard of excellence represented throughout the entries we received this year," said Linda Day, IAVA executive director. "W3 winners continue to embody what the Internet is all about, and continue to raise the bar in web development and design. We are honored to have reviewed such a diverse and remarkable pool of work this year."
