Kaminario Named a Visionary in Gartner’s Inaugural Magic Quadrant for Solid-State Arrays
Kaminario, the leading all-flash storage array provider for mid-range enterprises, today announced it has been named a visionary in Gartner’s first annual Magic Quadrant for Solid-State Arrays*. The Magic Quadrant is based on detailed market research of 12 solid-state array vendors, evaluated on their ability to execute in the market and their completeness of vision.
Gartner also evaluated Kaminario’s all-flash array in its Critical Capabilities for Solid-State Arrays Report** and Kaminario K2 received the overall third highest product score. The report analyzed 13 solid-state array solutions across six use cases. The complete list of Kaminario’s product scores per use case is as follows:
- Overall Use Case: 3.36 out of 5
- Online Transaction Processing: 3.36 out of 5
- Server Virtualization: 3.30 out of 5
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure: 3.37 out of 5
- High-Performance Computing: 3.41 out of 5
- Analytics: 3.37 out of 5
According to Kaminario, these scores attest to the success of K2 in the market and Kaminario’s continued momentum in the flash storage space. K2 is the most cost-effective all-flash storage solution on the market at an average price of $2/GB usable capacity, rivaling both HDD, hybrid and all-flash array platforms. K2 also provides many industry-first features, such as both scale-up and scale-out architectures, allowing organizations to start small and grow based on their needs, and adaptive block size algorithm, enabling consolidation of OLTP, OLAP, big data and virtual infrastructure workloads and saving on server hardware and software licensing costs.
“We believe that these evaluations attest to our strength in research and development, our unique scale-up/scale-out architecture and the exceptional cost-effectiveness of K2,” says Dani Golan, founder and CEO of Kaminario. “The unique scalability of K2 combined with a seven-year, unconditional SSD warranty means customers can confidently grow with us. We’ve proved our dominance in industry innovation with 34 patented technologies and we’re confident in our ability to continue executing on our product roadmap to meet the current and future storage needs of mid-range enterprises.”
Kaminario recently announced outstanding company momentum following the launch of K2, announcing tripled year-over-year growth in quarterly bookings and 25-percent growth in overall headcount quarter-over-quarter. Kaminario K2 was also awarded ”Most Innovative Flash Memory Technology” at the 2014 Flash Memory Summit’s annual Best of Show awards, named a major contender in the flash storage market by 451 Research and listed in CRN’s Emerging Vendors 2014: Storage Vendors. These recognitions, combined with company growth, demonstrate Kaminario’s success in providing a best-of-breed all-flash storage solution.
“Our R&D focus is to take full advantage of modern SSD technology to provide features our competitors cannot rival, so our customers never have to compromise,” says Ritu Jyoti, chief product officer at Kaminario. “The recent industry accolades recognizing K2 show that we’re exceeding expectations across three critical needs of enterprise storage — macro efficiency, business agility and resiliency — and all at an average cost of $2/GB for usable capacity. The K2′s high scores for a broad range of use cases, such as OLTP, VDI and Analytics, demonstrate that adaptive block size algorithms, scale-up and scale-out architectures and data reduction technologies are crucial for customers to operate efficiently in increasingly demanding and challenging data center environments.”
