Networking Industry Leader Karl Soderlund Joins Certeon

Soderlund to head Sales and Business Development
BURLINGTON, Mass. — May 10, 2010 — Certeon, the leading provider of virtualized WAN
optimization and application acceleration, today announced that Karl Soderlund has joined the
company as its senior vice president responsible for Certeon’s worldwide sales and business
development organizations. Soderlund brings more than 15 years of experience in building and
managing highly successful sales and business development organizations in the networking
industry.
Prior to coming to Certeon, Soderlund was the vice president and general manager for sales
and marketing in the Americas of Hewlett-Packard’s ProCurve business. He also was the senior
vice president of American sales and global alliances at Fortinet, a computer and network
security firm where he was instrumental in driving its successful IPO. Soderlund also has held
senior management positions with Extreme Networks and Cisco Systems, where his leadership
drove substantial growth in both companies.
