Jajah Raises $5 Million, Aims at Asia

Internet telephone company Jajah Inc. raised $5 million from Globespan Capital Partners
21 April, 2006 - Internet telephone company Jajah Inc. raised $5 million from Globespan Partners.

The Menlo Park company closed its series B round this week and put Venky Ganesan of Globespan on its board of directors.

Yair Goldfinger, a founder of the instant messaging company ICQ, also sits on Jajah's board, as does Haim Sadger of Sequoia Capital.

Daniel Mattes, who founded Jajah with Roman Scharf, said the company hopes to spend the money increasing its presence in Asian markets. Jajah is focused particularly Japan, Korea, China and India.

Globespan has a special expertise in Asia, Mattes said.

Jajah began beta testing its first product in July 2005. It has an office on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, one in Luxembourg, and a development office in Israel.
